We are currently on AX 2012 R3 cu12 and looking to migrate to a supported ERP in 2024 (hopefully D365).  The soonest I see that completing is June-November of 2024, depending on how long the ERP selection process and migration take.  We have several customizations that will have to be rebuilt.

In the meantime, Vertex is ending their support for their sales and use tax connector to AX.  But they aren't just ending support.  They are ending our ability to use the connector as of March 16, 2024.  Avalara has already ended their sales tax solution support for AX 2012.

Does anyone know of any other sales tax software that integrates with AX 2012 will continue to be supported through the end of 2024?  What has been your experience with their solution?

Does anyone manage sales taxes natively in AX?  If so, how are you finding updated tax rates for jurisdictions across the country?

    Thank you.

    Hello Mark:
We faced a similar problem with finding a connector when we were looking several years ago.  We are currently using AX 2012 R2, so a step back from where you are.  The solution that we found was a product called Sales Tax Office that is from Wolters Kluwer/CCH. They were one of one when we launched our tax update that had a connector for AX 2012 and did not require that we hire a developer to create one.
The calculation software has performed relatively well with AX 2012 though it has not been without its implementation hiccups.  It uses an API call to CCH's platform for the calculations.  Solution is not perfect.  We did lose some system speed with the connector and the API calls.  Their managed services division which files sales tax returns on our behalf is probably the largest pain point as it is aged and clunky but again it is functional.  If you file your own returns, there are mostly decent reports that can be used for reconciliation purposes and filings.  We launched with CCH in January of 2022 and have had no notice regarding stopping support at any time soon.
