I would like to know if it is possible to have orders released to the warehouse to be released in the inventory Unit of Measure of the product rather than in the Unit of Measure recorded on the Sales Order.

    Thank you Steven,
unfortunately we do have the appropriate UOM conversions and unit sequence groups set up and that doesn't help.  Our reason for the question is related to when a customer orders in a UOM that is a multiple of the stock UOM.  When you ship a partial customer UOM you sometimes get issues where packing slip wont post.  Our specific issue is this:

A customer orders 2 Pallets (PF) of a product with an Inventory UOM of Box (BX) and there are 36 BX per PF.
On shipment we find that we only have 42 BX and we short ship to the customer leaving 30 to backorder.
When we try to ship the backorder the demand is .83 PF.  This generates work for 30 BX and we pick that.
When we try to post, the shipment throws an error that we were supposed to ship 36 but only picked 30.

    Ah ok.
I initially thought of the strategy on the work line, but tbh it sounds like the WHS side is behaving as needed.

Do you have Standard order qtys set on the default order settings? Also are your 'product information management parameters' / 'Validate on default order quantities' set to strict?

Exactly what step of the process throws the error and what is the exact error!!?
