    We are on AX 2012 R3 cu12.

Our users sometimes forget to change the Attachments Restriction setting from Internal to External when entering notes in sales orders they wish to have printed on the customer invoice, using print management.

It appears that even if the user changes it from Internal to External after the customer invoice has been generated AX will not print that note on the customer invoice when they go to reprint the invoice.

Is there any way around this?  I couldn't find the SQL links to modify it behind the scenes when absolutely needed.  I see where the note is stored and how that links to the sales order, but not what allows it to be included when printing the customer invoice journal.

It seems to be a waste of time to issue a credit note and create new order lines and invoice just to be able to include the note on the invoice.

    Thank you!

As far as I am aware the report regenerates every time the SSRS report triggers so this behaviour is odd. (Unless generated from the print archive).

Have you checked your parameters in the form setup in sales and marketing. I recall a couple of options in here governing how notes display.

    Hi Mark,

Technically, this should be fairly simple without requiring any SQL or backend modifications. First of all, I'll assume that your form setup parameters for the invoice document are set to carry over the notes to the invoice, since you mention that they sometimes forget to change it from Internal to External, so the attached notes are copied on the invoice journal record on invoice posting, which means that even if you change something on the notes from the sales order, this won't have an impact on the ones that got copied on invoice posting. In order to change the Restriction parameter on the notes for a specific invoice, just go to that record in the invoice journal form (either from Accounts receivable / Inquiries or directly from the sales order) and simply change the restriction there. Once you reprint the document, the note(s) will appear on the document as expected. Hope this helps!

    Best regards,

Makes perfect sense the note being copied to the invoice journal!! Duplicate record in the socuref table pointing to a different table and RefRecId!!
