1.  Handheld Interface

Posted 10 days ago
We use handheld scanners in our warehouse operations, and they work fine.  However, when doing testing or when office employees need to check on inventory locations or other operations, we log on to the webpage for the handheld interface.  Our problem is that when logging in that way, there are no scroll bars.  When we look up an inventory location that has more than 1 page of bins, there are no scroll bars to scroll thru all of them.  Whatever data doesn't fit on 1 page is not viewable.  Has anyone else encountered this and have a solution?

html
{
   overflow: scroll;
}

This code at the top of the CSS file (Work user mobile device display setting) solves the problem, at least with a touch screen device.

Sounds like a browser compatibility issue. Have you tried different browser options and different versions. We had similar issues using ScanWorkX portal interface. Check the Browser Compatibility Settings as well.

We are using Motorola & Symbol handhelds.  The application works great on them.  However, our 3rd party implementor created a webpage that we can log on to from our desks and do the same thing as the handheld.  When we log on to that webpage, go to Inventory > Item Inquiry, input the item you are looking up and select OK, and if there is more than 1 page of locations there are no scroll bars to browse through the list.  We have addressed this with our implementer and all we get is that it is working as designed, per Microsoft.  We are using Internet Explorer 11 which is a Microsoft product too, so we should not be having compatibility issues.  I can't imagine that they would put out an application that isn't compatible with their browser.  However, I have tried it on IE11, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, and it has the same issue on all of them.

Hi Cheryl,

We had the exact same problem with our Motorola scanners and our vendor gave us a similar response in that "that's the way Microsoft made it". Not true. If you go to Warehouse management  > Mobile device > Work user mobile device display settings - you'll see the name of the css file being used to format the display. You can actually open it with a text editor and make changes to it. When you find the file, you'll find other files there as well for different browsers. I experimented with a couple of the other files and found options in the others that helped our scroll bars and touch screen scroll to work and added them into our default file.
