1.  Error ending production orders

We have started seeing on a regular basis an error when ending production orders. The error states "Active job registrations or journal registrations exist on production in Manufacturing Execution". Initially this started and pointed to one employee but seems to be showing up against more and more employees. Has anyone see this? Where would one look to see the pending registrations against the production orders? How does one clean them up?

We have been having an issue with job card journals and picking list journals creating extras and not posting for quite some time. Usually the journals that are not posting are a duplicate of another journal that did correctly post. Under Production Control>Journals>Job card, there may be un-posted journals tied to that production order. Hopefully this takes care of your issue.

Hello,

This error is a bug and can be fixed by doing the following. 

In the human resources module, under Time and Attendance - Calculate.  The "time cards" have not been calculated or approved for the days that the route cards were posted.  I've found this to be a bug in R3 as this wasn't an issue in R1.  Prior to ending all production orders, I have to calculate and approve the registrations for all employees.

I have had the most success finding these in Shop Floor Controls>Inquiries>Registration>Journal Registrations.  Do a search for the work order you are attempting to end and it will show you any open registrations that have not been posted.  I then go to that date and employee in the calc/approve/transfer screen and recalculate/approve and transfer the employee for that day.  Normally after doing this I am able to then end the production order.

    Hi Zach,

We have this issue here sometimes and this is how we clean it up:

Check journal registrations (Shop Floor Control > Job Status > Production Status)

Check “Journal Registration” for each line (each operation/activity). It should be blank for each line i.e all the journal should be transferred. You can also check in “Transferred Registration” whether it’s been transferred or not.

If there are any “Journal Registration” that are not transferred and the Production order is already Reported As Finished then need you might need somebody technical to go in to respective Tables (Update Table: JMGStampJournalTrans and Table: JMGStampTrans) and manually transfer the journal to fix the issue.

In AX2012 R3 the journal registration form has changed name to Registration history.
This how I fix this problem:

To find "open" jobs, or active registrations go to:
Human resources/Area page/Inquiries/Time and attenance/Registrations/Registration history

Enter 2154-12-31 i Profile date. Check for rows with start date within your closing period.
Open the Calculate form for that worker and fix the problem, either by deleting the row or move it to correct profile date, fix the end time, and recalculate that day.

I'm having the same issue.

Is calculating, approving and transferring time and attendance the only solution here? I have to do it manually for each production order and employee working on it? Shouldn't AX do it automatically?

A lot of buzz on this post and just wanted to make some observations. That error is a standard infolog, it's not a bug. When using Time and Attendance, you need to calculate, approve, and transfer time for the employees before Production can be Ended. This is because the act of transferring time posts offsetting job card journals to the Production order to make any adjustments to the user's time due to incorrect logins or clockings, for example, they forgot to clock out for lunch and remained logged into a production order, or they started the wrong order. When approving, HR or someone would make the necessary adjustments, then when time is transferred the new job cards are posted to the Production order. This must be done before the End step because Ending of a production order closes it off from making any further adjustments. If you are not using Time and Attendance/MES and still getting those messages, then you have incorrect configuration in the Production control module.
