    Good Day,

We have picked up numerous items that are being split on the work transactions which is auto completing via the mobile device.

The transaction relates to raw material picking on a production order.

What could be the cause of this?

This is resulting on our on hand stock form leaving a negative quantity which cannot be written off.

What settings on the mobile device could trigger this.

We are currently using AX 2012 R3.

I would appreciate the input on this.

Without seeing On Hand Inventory at the moment that this work was generated, it's difficult to confirm, however, it seems that your first location didn't have enough quantity on hand to satisfy the entire amount of PICK work needed, so it sent you to another location for the remainder, which was only a fraction of an amount.

In order for the work to split the quantity to be picked from multiple locations, look at your location directive for this work.  In the lines section, there is a box for "Allow Split".  With this box checked, the work will be created pointing to multiple locations until the total pick qty is fulfilled.  If unchecked, you'll need to have the total required amount for the pick in one location in order for the work to generate completely.

I hope that I am answering your question.

    Hi,

Yes that is exactly what my suspicion was.

In order to test this, I deactivated the "Allow Split" parameter tick.  I confirmed there was sufficient stock (I actually manually counted in more stock in one location) and completed the production order again.

It still split the quantity even though this was deactivated and stock was only in one location.

I am going to retest this by writing off all other stock and see what the difference is.

Thank you, this definitely confirms that I was on the right track.

    Good Day,

Just an update on this particular query.  After further investigation it turns out that the below parameter ticks were causing the splitting of the quantities.

It is the setup on the location directive.

    Restrict by unit

    Round up to unit

These parameters were de-activated and it did not cause the split.  The round up was a big factor, as not exact quantities were picked via raw material picking leaving the smaller balances behind in a negative on the on-hand form.
