Who Deleted the Production Batch Number?

    Good Day AXUG,
My company has to reconcile production batch numbers every month. We have a scenario where occasionally someone deleted a batch number from inventory. Is there a way I can find who deleted that missing batch number? perhaps in the AOT?

    Hi Ashley,

Or the number sequence can skip numbers or the user can indeed delete a number. Do you have the continuous option enabled on the number sequence (if you are using a number sequence)? If not, numbers will be skipped if something happens during creation.
If it is business critical, you can consider using the database log features to log all occasions of deleting a batch number.

We have the number sequence set to continuous. we need to be able to account for every batch number created in the system. Users unfortunately have the ability to delete batch numbers; we need to trace who did.

Any reason why you don't take their permissions away from doing this?

If you want to log deletions, Database Logging can do that, but there are performance considerations.

Go to Sys admin -> Setup -> Database -> Database log setup -> New
Run the wizard, let it populate then select "Show all tables" instead of just "Show main tables"
Expand the Trade node, then tick the box next to table Batches, click next and tick the box for "Delete".

You should end up with something like this:

And then you should be able to see the results at Sys Admin -> Inquiries -> Database -> database log.

    Thank you.
We have taken strides to prevent users from deleting, but it's still happening.

Like mentioned above, try to enable the database logging. The user and timestamp will be visible for you then.

Is this just an issue with the journal related to a batched item being deleted? If so the transaction associated to all inventory should  still be tracked in the transactions table. It will not show you whom deleted unless you do what was previously recommended. But if you are just looking at auditing your transactions those cannot  be deleted unless they have direct access to the backend.

    Hello,

We have similar problem and I second André Arnaud de Calavon's advice - enable database log on the table and trace it from there
