Purchase Order Charge Code

    Good afternoon,

I am trying to setup a charge code for new tariff charges that we are starting to incur.

I would like to have the tariff cost be included in the inventory value of the item. I know that if you select "item" type as the debit in the setup of the charge code it should include the cost with the price of the item.

The problem I am having is that the tariff cost is going to purchase price variance because we are using a standard costing system.

How can I have the charge code follow the GL account of the item rather than the PPV account?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Laurel,
I do not think that you can achieve that with a standard cost valuation principle in place because the idea of standard costs is having those additional costs, tariffs, charges, etc. already incorporated - on average - in the standard cost price.
    Best regards,

Would it be possible for you to use the costing sheet to implement that ? (agreed with Ludwig in my case it was used for FIFO valuation)

Posted by Stock valuation is a huge topic, applied in manufactured and trade contexts. I don't know any experienced ERP Dynamics consultant who hasn't seen in his carrier a stock valuation issue. We can talk about that on plenty subjects.

Have you tried adding a misc charge?  We do this for freight and other charges, each misc charge you set up requires a GL code.
