Good Morning Folks,

We are currently running AX 2012 R3 CU10 and are looking at upgrading to either CU12 or CU13.  Has anyone upgraded to either of these and if so, do you have any feedback, issues encountered, etc?

Thanks,
Ranny

We have upgraded from CU8 to CU12. We were most probably one of the first as that was in late March and CU12's Beta version came out less than a month before. There were considerable improvements on performance, but it caused many issues in our Inventory with the « Catch Weight » and WMS modules (quantity VS. pound conversion). Just to give you an idea, we have not yet remediated to it and we're in December.

We just upgraded from CU3 to CU9 - been live about 3 weeks now.  Reading some of the posts on this thread sparks some interest...

@Youri Dominique
You mention some performance improvements.  Is this in general or in specific areas?  We are experiences some slowness on opening up a sales order particularly when we have many lines, we have orders that may have over 50 lines.  We had to increase our report time out parameter, so that our inventory on hand report could complete.  We also are experiencing issues with many queries and seems to stem from explain plans or statistics on tables being out of whack.  It caused horribleness to our batch processing yesterday, grinding batch processing to a complete stop.  We had to update stats on the 4 batch related tables and finally batch jobs started flowing again.
Also you mentioned *Catch Weight*, we went into licensing configuration and turned that off since we don't use or want those fields and it was an annoyance to our users to see the additional fields on various forms.

Hi -

If you run MRP consider this thread, "After CU12 - Safety stock replenishment to early."

If you run WAX/TRAX then I encourage you to look at CU13.

For recent upgrades, do you run the clean up for Sales and Procurement found under... Periodic | Clean up | Sales update history cleanup?  This can help.  I would advise trying this out in a test system to fully understand what the routine is doing to various Parm tables of certain statuses.

Example....

PurchParmLine
PurchParmLine_Asset
PurchParmLine_Project
PurchParmSubLine
PurchParmSubTable
PurchParmTable
PurchParmTable_PaymentDisbursement
PurchParmUpdate
PurchRFQParmLine
PurchRFQParmSubTable
PurchRFQParmTable
PurchRFQParmUpdate

Explore the field PARMJOBSTATUS (shot below).

PARMJOBSTATUS field

We upgraded from CU8 to CU13 a few weeks ago. So far, we've run into several issues with Inventory reports not working.

  • On-Hand Inventory and Variance Analysis Statement both threw errors due a fields that was used no longer existing (sorry, I'd have to ask our SQL guy what the field was, whether it was a display or criteria field and how he fixed it).
  • Inventory Value Report returns "No data" when a criteria is set on the Warehouse field. Functions fine otherwise.

Aside from that, our biggest issue has been that we reset the user data, which blew away all the screen personalizations and defined report parameters everyone had set up. Three weeks in and we're still dealing with headaches from that.

@Steve Latta Did you really have to reset usage data to all users because of going from CU8 to CU13?  This was required as a part of our upgrade, but since database changed so much it made sense.  Is there big changes between CU8 and 13 that would require a full usage data reset?  #LifecycleServices (Upgrades)
