D365 Finance & Operations and Dynamics AX Forum

We are currently in UAT and testing the standard Analytical workspaces that are embedded within the functional areas ie CFO, Project Management.
One concern we have is that there is no security attached to these reports so users can see all data for all entities.
We have seven entities, and need to restrict reports by entity.
It seems strange that the standard workspaces out of the box do not apply the Users role and entity security to these reports? Wondering if there is a setup we are missing?

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Just to be sure I understand the question correctly, when you are referring to 'entities' above do you mean legal entities (companies) or data entities?

Thanks for responding.
I am referring to legal entities/companies. So when I look at one of the out of the box analytics that is "current company"(ie Financial Analysis) it is OK, but the out of the box analytics for project management does not have this option so users are able to see all legal entities/companies. They can filter by legal entity, but this will not meet our needs as we require them to not be able to view other companies data.

Hope this makes sense. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Eileen,

I don't have a lot of experience with analytical workspaces but I do have a fairly deep background on D365FO security.

From what you are describing this is either a bug within the project management analytical workspace or is an area where you may have to extend the out of box functionality to meet your business requirements.

I would think that it would make sense for the user role organization restrictions applied to the user should also apply to the analytical workspaces they have access to.

Hi Alex,
We also thought the out of the box Analytics would apply the company/legal entity from the user security profile and were surprised when this was not the case.

Hence my call out to the UG to see if anyone else had this issue and had identified a fix.
