Amber,
I am the lead developer on a solution called the Fastpath Assure (which is where the screenshot I used to help find the privileges from your initial question came from). We have a couple different modules that I think could help including our Security Designer module which allows you to record yourself performing a process via a task recording and then to analyze it for the objects consumed/utilized during the process and then to find the roles/duties/and privileges that give you access to that process.
For example, I recorded myself creating a customer and then analyzed the tasked recording to find the roles that would give me access to perform this task (I can also show the same level of detail for duties and privileges).

Happy to discuss further if you would like, feel free to reach out to

Alex,
Thank you so much that worked perfectly. By chance do you know of a tool or add-on that assists with the hard-to-find privileges and duties? The Accounts payable>Payments>Vendor payment journal shows up but does not process with the duties/privileges I provided.

Amber,
The 'Open in Excel' option within D365FO is secured by the data entities controlling the particular form you are on.
I wrote about securing this feature here: https://alexdmeyer.com/2019/12/02/securing-the-open-in-microsoft-office-button-in-d365fo/
In this case the data entity controlling this is the VendInvoiceJournalLine data entity.
It appears that only the 'Maintain vendor invoice journal line entity' privilege has this access.

Can someone assist me with finding the privilege or duty to allow a user to access the "open in excel" action under Accounts payable> Invoice> Invoice journal?
I have given the privileges
- Maintain vendor invoice journal transactions
- Maintain the ledger journal and ledger journal lines
- Maintain general journal transactions
- LedgerJournalVendInvoiceGlobalMaintain
They give the ability to see and open just not publish
I receive this below error:
Details: A row created in the data set VendInvoiceJournalLines was not published. Error message: 'Could not schedule SetValue for property Date: update access to property not granted'
