What is the quickest way to find field level help?

    For example:
    • On the Release Products screen in the Sell fast tab are two date fields (Sell Start Date, Sell End Date) in the Sell Dates section.
    • From this screen there is no easy way to find details on these two fields, and the business logic attached to them.
    • Note...I know how the sell dates work so just using this as an example.

There is no straight forward method. there is some Microsoft help available when you press F1 but that's not always clear and/or comprehensive.
In many cases I start researching by simply googling "Dynamics 365 <field name>"

Zvika is correct, it does not have a single clear path, I usually start with the help available in the system, then do a google search and look at the different data that I get there. there are many blogs, and the dynamics community is also a great source of information as well. Like everything else there is not a magic answer, but a little research can almost 100% find an answer and don't forget to post in the forums, there are a lot of really sharp people that are willing to help answer your questions.

Thanks for the responses. What you have suggested above is exactly what I have been doing to find help in D365.

You would have thought that Microsoft would have a team focused on provided good help text given the cost of D365.

    Hello Brad,

As others have mentioned you will find broad overviews of specific functions and modules within Dynamics 365 via Microsoft's official documentation. That being said from a business perspective it doesn't make sense for Microsoft to provide detailed business logic simply because of how unique each implementation of the product is to each business and industry. The logic and documentation is likely something you will have to create for customers/clients.

I will also mention that in your example Released Products, I learned its micro details via the Data Management Framework upon importing data projects into the system.

    Hope this is helpful,

    Johnny
