D365 FR Financial Reports - Output Location

  • 1.  D365 FR Financial Reports - Output Location

In D365 we lost the ability to organize our generated reports in folders in report viewer.
In AX2012 we were able to specify "Generate to a single report library and link location" with Output locations on the output and distribution tab.  We used this to organize our generated reports by month.
    AX2012

    In D365
We lost the ability to do that.  Now we only have the output name available and NO output location.

Now it just LISTS all your generated reports one after another and we can't create subfolders for months.
Has anyone figured out a way to create subfolders for months or an alternative way of handling this change?

    Hi Julie,

I ran this by one of my experts.

He mentioned to try to configure and use Document Routing Agent. Please refer to
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/analytics/install-document-routing-agent and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/analytics/print-documents to see the current version options to handle printing.

    Hi Julie,

The only thing you can do is organize the report components within FR (formerly called MR) and use folders there - by doing this, the viewing of the report is also contained within the folder.  The other big change in D365 that most find out after the fact is that this also impacts security (as in removes it).  You can still use the lock and password to stop others from editing the component, but the view is not secured (other than either you have access or you don't).
