Origin Based Sales Tax for TN with Avatax & D365

    Looking for others that have an office in TN and customers in TN and are using Avatax to manage sales tax.  Trying to figure out how to make the origin based tax calculate correctly.

    We also use AvaTax (just went live on 2/1) and have a similar situation with Ohio.  We solved it by making sure each warehouse has a valid address record (validated by AvaTax) in the warehouse record.  (Not sure if needs to be primary or invoice or delivery or what... you may need to experiment with that.)

    We are on AX 2012 R2 though, so I can't guarantee that it will be the same with D365.  Avalara is usually pretty good about answering questions as well, so you might want to check with them.

    Hi Kelly, just curious as to how you have been able to handle origin based sales tax for TN.  I have a client that wants to implement for TX, AZ and CA, but not sure how to specify other than using the warehouse code and linking that in.  The client uses Vertex but would imagine would be similar to Avatax as well.  Thanks.
