Margin Reports!

    Good morning Community!
We are stuck with a problem in reporting. We produce a report in Management Reporter that gives us:

    - Company (Our Legal Entity)
    - Customer by LE
    - Revenue and Cost of Goods Sold by Customer
    - The resulting gross margin in dollars and % per customer.

The problem is MR will not update automatically with new customers and this causes a big hassle so we're wondering if we can pull sales FROM THE GENERAL LEDGER (not the sales and marketing dashboard) and Cost of Goods Sold in PowerBI.

Anyone ever tried this or know how to pull in new customers automatically to Management Reporter?

Thanks and have a great day,

What version of dynamics are you on? As far as I know there is no way to pull in subledger (customer/vendor) info into management reporter unless you explicitly created a financial dimension tied to customer and posted transactions in the general ledger with that custom dimension. Is this your case?

or are you using the attribute field in MR to bring in the customer/vendor info into MR?  Older versions of MR used to support this function but was deprecated a while back.

recently in  D365 in one of the later PU there was a new feature that included vendor and customer data in the voucher transaction form, so maybe in essence this could be done from the general ledger.

    Good morning, Bill.

Maybe you are listing the customers in MR's Row Definition. If so, you are correct. MR's Row Definitions do not automatically insert new rows for new customers. They are hardcoded one row at a time. The same would be true for Column Definitions if you are using Attribute filters for individual columns for customers.

Sorry for the 'no good news' there, but maybe a little solace in confirmation.
