Sorry Ismael, I picked up on your use of the term re-sequencing and went with it. Relative to rescheduling via the Dispatch function on a Resource, it does work when things are set up correctly. Here is an example I just spun up for you:
Here is a sample job. It is past due and needs to be rescheduled.

It is the first job in a route with two other job operations (a primary and a secondary tied to it).

Jobs were previously scheduled for both operations.

Resource has plenty of available capacity.

Click Sequence.

Then click 'Schedule' and the standard Job Scheduling form is presented. Form is completed as shown below and OK is selected.

Job is rescheduled.

FYI, so are the other two jobs for operation 20 (primary and secondary) that follow operation 10.

Thanks Jack.. appreciate the responses. I am aware of the sequencing functionality and I am testing it already.
What I was referring to is the manual "sequence" menu item on the resource dsipatching screen. See snapshots below.
But I realised after reading your post I have only been testing Production Order jobs, so I went ahead and tested batch order jobs, still same outcome (nothing happens).

Hi again Ismael,
I'm guessing your not getting any response from the system because the resource your looking at hasn't been included in a setup for production job sequencing in the system. This link will give you some additional information on sequencing:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj838751.aspx (note: the article in the link refers to batch based production, but sequencing can be set up for discrete production scenarios as well). I have clients who have successfully set this up in different ways for things like painting operations (certain colors come before others in a sequence to reduce changeover times) or food products production (certain jobs are sequenced to run only on certain days).

Hi everyone,
I couldn't find enough material to explain how to use the dispatching screen re-sequencing functionality
(Resources > Dispatching > Sequence > Up/Down/Schedule).
I tried to test it as follows:
- Run job scheduling
- Go to a resource
- Click "Dispatching"
- Select a few records
- Click "Sequence"
- select each job and move Up or Down
- Select all jobs and click "schedule" then OK
- Refresh/review dispatching
Nothing happens! Nothing at all.
Anyone who has documentation or has done it before I would really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.
