Hi Ryan,
I have not been able to find documentation for this mapping. However, with some time, you can look at the entities in Dynamics 365, and look at the datasources on those objects in the AOT, and the tables on those datasources.
Each 'field' in a data entity is mapped to the a field on a table, and you can view which field and which table by looking at the properties on the Data entity field. (Right click and select properties after selecting the node in the AOT in Visual Studio).
Then, you can start by doing a mapping of the 2012 table fields to the D365 table fields. And then map those fields to the entity fields. This will tell you which 2012 table/fields map to which d365 table/fields. I unfortunately don't have a document that lists the mappings from 2012 tables/fields to the d365 data entities, but hopefully this tells you how you would come up with this mapping yourself. 'Most' of the fields in 2012 stayed the same and were kept in D365. But it does depend on which data you are trying to map, as to how much it has changed since 2012. Let us know if you have a specific table or data entity, and we can try to help further.

Do you have any documentation you can share around this or links?

Hi Eric,
Having taken a client through upgrades and worked with both for a while, the fields are basically the same, just combined into an entity - if you have access to D365, use the data management and create an export to export the vendor entity to get all the fields available and then compare - that is the easiest from a front end functional standpoint. The entity map does show the relationships as well so you can see which tables are being combined.

Greetings, is there a resource that shows the mapping between entities in ax 2012 to D365? For example Vendors, If I pull the data from ax2012 R3 using the DIEF functions, how do the columns map to the entity in D365? Not all the fields have the same or similar names. Is there a map that shows this field in the ax 2012 entity maps to this field in the D365 entity.
