Denomiantor field on Unit Coversion Table

    We are on AX2012 R3 CU13.
We have a situation where we need to put in a number with a decimal, 2.5, into the denominator field in the Unit Conversion Table for a released product. The denominator field does not allow decimals because the field type is Integer which only allows a whole number. We are very hesitant to change the type from Integer to something allowing decimals because of how much is dependent on this table.
Has anyone changed this field to allow for decimals? What were the changes you made and what negative affects did you run into?
    Thanks!

I've always done unit conversions using the factor and the bigger unit in the "From" and the smaller unit in the "To", and have never needed decimals.

    Hi Randy

What are the full details of the conversion you are trying to create?

We are trying to use the field a in a way not completely intended. We use the unit conversion table for the usual ways of cases to eaches and pallet quantities. But we are also using it for pulling information to Bartender software for label making for fluid ounces, milliliters, liters and gallons. Since Bartender does not due calculations we have created views based on the conversion table to pull data. This has been working perfectly except for one item we have. And that one needs a decimal in the denominator field.

For almost all items it looks like the following. But we have one that that needs the factor that needs to be 1 and the denominator of 37.5 for ml to fl. oz.

Factor Numerator Denominator From unit To unit
    8.50 1 250 ml fl. oz
    1,860.00 1 1 pl ea
    155.00 1 1 pl cs
    12.00 1 1 cs ea

Can you make the numerator 10 and the denominator 375?
