Automatic replenishment without advance warehouse

    Hi

We are on AX 2012 CU 11 and have our DC setup with the advance warehouse but our destination stores are not. We use Master Planning to create planned orders for allocations out of our DC to our store location.

The business is looking to automatically allocate from the DC to our stores.  Is there any way of achieving this without changing our stores and adding the advance warehouse??

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

I'm not entirely clear on your configuration.  It sounds like your DC is a warehouse, and each of your stores is a warehouse.  It's possible that they might all be in the same site, or that each warehouse is in its own site.  I will proceed on that basis, and you can correct me if I've misunderstood.

If all those facilities are separate warehouses, warehouse management in the stores will not help allocate inventory in the DCs.  Warehouse management is used to move material around a single warehouse.  It does not move material across warehouse boundaries.  You're going to need transfer orders to move inventory across those boundaries, and master planning is the best tool for initiating transfer orders.  However, that's what you're using, and you have some issue with what it is doing or not doing.  Is the problem the reservation of inventory to the firmed transfer orders in the DC?

    Hi Todd,
Building on the input that Kevin offered, if the Planned Orders being generated by MRP are actually Planned Transfer Orders then some additional guidance would be helpful to narrow the possibilities at play here relative to automated allocations. First, under Inventory and Warehouse Management Parameters > Transfer Orders do you have the toggle switch enabled or disabled for Transfer Orders > Reserve Items Automatically? Second, on the Transfer Order lines themselves that result from the firming of the Planned Transfer Orders, is the Reserve Items Automatically field checkbox marked or blank (hint, the parameter toggle above determines by default whether this checkbox is initially enabled or disabled)? Third, from a processing standpoint, are users editing this checkbox manually to something different than the initial default setting in this field?
