Issue with planned production orders' dates for the same item

    Hello everyone,

I hope that you're fine, and hopefully, that you can also help me with something I have noticed about the master planning I'm running for production planned orders.

Our company has a dynamic plan that runs every quarter. Finished goods must have a maximum of 80000 units per production order (we configured this information in the Default orders setting of our product)

However, we are able to produce 850 units per hour, and this applies to all our finished goods, so we have a production route in which we set that.

The resource that we are using for the production route has the "Finite capacity" checkbox set to "Yes".

For some periods, the demand forecast says we must produce more than the 80 000 units we are setting for each item, so the orders are divided as following (what we think is right):

What is wrong is that for some of these divided production orders, we have the same scheduled dates and hours (red square), or in other cases, the scheduled dates and hours are spliced (blue square).

The effect we are hoping to see is that the master plan schedules one order after the other one, not at the same time, and not with spliced, because although we are using the same resource, the orders are different.

    What we want is possible?
If yes, what we are doing wrong?

I really hope that someone could help us.

Have a nice day! And thank you in advance!

The first thing I would check is that "Finite capacity" is checked on your master plan.
Double check the Capacity time fence on the master plan.
Double check the Capacity time fence on the coverage group.
You may want to check "Exclusive" on the resource as well.

Thank you so much for your reply @Richard Wehmeyer !

The "Exclusive" check on the resource was what I was missing, now the master plan works as we want.

    Best regards!
