    Hello Everyone,

I have a couple of projects coming up where I will need templates to upload large amounts of BOMs and Routes.  Is DIXF the best way to do that, or is there something better?

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,

    Sam

Definitely use DIXF.  The tables behind the routes are very complicated, with somewhere around 9 tables needed to set up a valid route with a resource.  Several of those tables hold only rec IDs to link records in other tables.  You are much better off using one of the entities to load that.  If you're using DIXF for routes, you might as well use it for BOMs.

Do you know which entities I need to use to load all the data?  BOM, BOMTable, Route, Routetable?  There are lots of BOM and Route entities so I'm not sure which ones to pick.

    Thanks for your help.

You could use something like Atlas is you have it but I think DIXF is the way to go and some of the time and energy spent may well be of use when you come to migrate to D365. We migrated all BoMs and routes from AX2009 to D365 via the data management framework and entities.
