    Hi there,

Is there any settings to execute master planning for a specific location such as a site, warehouse or store?

    Hi Mohammed,

Not exactly. It's not as easy as just specifying inventory dimensions since those aren't available when setting up your Master Plans. And they aren't available when selecting criteria in the query either.
One way to get around that is to use unique coverage groups for each physical location - whether site, warehouse, or store. Then you would have those coverage groups assigned to the items that qualify for those locations. The MRP query supports running for just a specific coverage group. That's for site or warehouse. Depending on how you have your location structure set up you might need to include other fields to narrow it down to just what's in a specific store or distribution location.

That should at least get you started. Hope it helps.

Andre, excellent suggestion, the basis of master planning is to run complete, since a lot of users now have multiple sites (BUs) in a single instance, this is an excellent way to be able to limit the run. Very innovative.

Hi Mohammad, this topic comes up on these forums a lot. You may want to review other posts for feedback before posting again in case you find answers you're seeking:
    https://www.axug.com/axug/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=7866f3be-27e4-41db-84fc-7c0b90f07d88&CommunityKey=af0dadbe-c222-4660-9d1e-a9e3416c837a&tab=digestviewer#bm7866f3be-27e4-41db-84fc-7c0b90f07d88

Also, the previous suggestion would be good if you are familiar with aligning a coverage group (or if an item is used in multiple stores or warehouses then a coverage group per an Item coverage record) to a Item/warehouse combination via Item coverage. That way you could have an Item coverage record for each warehouse an item is used in and have different coverage groups for each warehouse if required and then run MRP by coverage group.

It's not a perfect solution but could work depending on the rest of your planning design. Is there a specific reason you would not want to run MRP for the other stores or warehouses? Certain warehouses can also be setup for Manual coverage so that they are not planned against if that is your concern, or they can also be setup for Replenishment via planned transfers from other warehouses.

Thank you Andrew, I did not know it was already discussed. It helped a lot.
Actually, the main reason is that we have different warehouses that master planning should be executed for them at different frequencies. We want to avoid its full run because of the execution time.
