    Good Afternoon,
I am the System Administrator in Dynamics AX 2012 R3.  I have a group of folks in Accounts Payable who want to be alerted by e-mail whenever Procurement uploads/attaches a document to the Purchase Agreement.  This does not happen on a daily basis or even weekly but it is for existing contracts ( vendors ) and new ones.  Would anyone be able to tell me what criteria I would use to set up this alert?  Would I go to the PA and right click and create a rule? The Purchase Agreement is where they would put the attachment.  Then what criteria would I use to notify me whenever a new addendum has been attached to this PA new or existing purchase agreements.
I hope didn't confuse anyone but AP wants to be alerted for any attachments to an existing or new Purchase Agreement.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you could give me.

Assuming the document handler is similar to AX2009...
The alert will need to be on the table DocuRef. This is the top half of the handler view that shows file type, description, restriction, etc., but not the attached document itself.
DocuRef table includes a field RefTableId that points to the table associated with the attachment. You need to find the table id for Purchase Agreements.

DocuRef can be quite large, but is indexed on RefTableId, so may not require too much resources.

Maybe these snapshots will help. Open the document handler on any record that has an attachment.
    Create an alert as usual.

You will need to find out the table Id associated with your table. Sorry - I can't help with that.
