AX 2012 R2 (Cross References Backup / Restore Option)

    Greetings,

I have a customer who is going to refresh their test environment with production data but I have 3 trading partner setups with cross reference configurations, xquery maps, and need to know if there is an easy way to backup / restore these settings?

    Hi Rick,

The best would be regenerating the cross references from scratch. Usually you not only copy data, but also the model database and thereafter apply pending customizations again. There is no backup option for the cross references.
Note that if you are moving customizations using models and/or xpo's, then the element IDs can be environment specific which would be the reason to copy both business and model databases from production to test.
