Receiving an item from two loads of a purchase order

    Hi every one,

We recently came across a problem that your suggestions help us a lot.

For a single item in a purchase order, we create two separated loads. The loads are shipped but once we want to receive one of them, the receiving amount equals to sum of the two loads. So, one of the loads becomes received and the other one remains shipped!

    For instance: item in load 1=90, item in load 2=80; load 1 status= shipped,load 2 status= shipped.
once I receive the load 1, the receiving quantity is 170 (90+80)! Then load 1 status= received and load 2 status= shipped!
Isn't possible to receive them separately?
    Is it adjustable via setups?
Does any one know how to handle it?

I suspect that you are on AX 2012 R3 rather than D365.  This was an issue in AX 2012 through CU12; Microsoft fixed it in CU13.  We wrote a custom job for our customer that reviewed inbound loads that are in a shipped status.  If all of the InventTrans records linked to the purchase order lines on the load had a status of received or purchased, it set the load status to Received.  That did nothing to fix the delivery note records, which are all linked to the one receipt transaction, but it at least cleared out the loads so that they did not stay in a Shipped status forever.

Thank you Kevin for your explanations.
We are running CU13 but surprisingly the issue still exists.

So there is no way but developing a job for checking the shipped loads? is there any other options?

The original problem was caused because the receiving function used by the load form or the update product receipts job received all quantities that had been registered.  I know that our problem disappeared after the installation of CU13.  We may have installed a hot fix during our testing cycle that dealt with it, but the issue is no longer there.

We could find no other way to deal with the issue than to close the shipments and loads.  The alternative was writing something that was much more intrusive, and we simply did not want to take on the burden of removing lines from the packing list transactions, reversing journal entries and resetting the status on the purchase order inventory transactions.
