I am preparing proposals for Summit. I have previously presented on MRP and project management at FOCUS and Summit.

I am an experienced implementer, Business analyst, and manager with a couple decades of experience in discreet production, master scheduling, inventory costing, project management and testing and training. (So, I won't be covering AP or process manufacturing, for example...)

What do you most want to hear about?   Let me know in comments. Topics I am considering are below, you can add thoughts. I appreciate the input!

Get Ready for MRP: Updated.  I did this last year, it was well received.  What data to clean, processes to understand in your business as you get ready to implement MRP.

Requirements gathering for a successful implementation  - What, really, do we mean by a requirement? How do you coax them out of your business?  How do you map them to testing during your implementation? Unlock the magic of knowing what you need and measuring if you are getting it from your implementation.

Testing Master Planning - So, you are implementing MRP/Master Scheduling/Master planning.  It's a beast! Learn some tips and best practices to be sure you are really putting it through the paces before you are live with an implementation or reconfiguration. Tame the beast and make it your friend!

Be a super Super User! - What is the role of a Super User or SME (Subject Matter Expert) on an implementation and beyond?  Learn what you can do to add value to your organization and juice to your career. Practical tips for Dynamics and beyond.

Going Global - Maybe you expanded, acquired, opened a DC. Now you need a new company, in another country, added to Dynamics.  Be prepared with the information you will need to configure and new entity successfully. Case study information will provide real-world look at what it means.  Focus will be for companies previously only  US based, but would apply to anyone beginning business in a new country.

    Shelby,
I love the ideas of the how to do Requirements gathering and testing. The "mystery" of MRP is often understanding practical use of the different settings so you can map to terms your organization is familiar with and align across the supply chain. Can't wait to see what you come up with, the committee is excited to see the community's passion for all things MRP.

    Shelby,

At last years  AXUG summit, you mentioned a topic you have given in the past, "Hot date w/MRP", a course around all the different types of MRP dates and how they affect MRP.

    Shelby,

I love he list and I know more and more organizations are looking to implement MRP, and the areas you are planning to cover are going to be most helpful to all. Glad you are suggesting and willing to step up.

I'm much like you with a 20 plus years in operations.  I think all of your subjects ideas are great.  I do find that most companies I work with are under prepared to implement MRP and the implementation time line gets extended because of it.   So  my first vote is of all of your topics and if I can only pick two it is Getting Ready for MRP and Testing Master planning

OK: I will go with a series, as it were:  Get requirements, get ready, test. Just for Erick I will consider adding Hot Dates, then let the committee review.

Thanks for the feedback.  Although the proposals are due today,  feel free to keep adding thoughts on what is useful to your organization: I can use to round out the session content.  It's your Summit!
