Posting to a vendor and customer account simultaneously

    Hi All,

We post vendor invoices in a parent entity that eventually get recharged to a subsidiary.  I'm wondering if there is a way to do the invoice journal to charge to the vendor account, and then have an offset of the customer account which is our subsidiary.  When I tried to do this via the Vendor Invoice Journal, I got an error that "There can only be one vendor or customer transaction per voucher." Is this a setting I can change or will I need to find another solution?

    Hi Laura,

I am not sure what version of AX or D365 you are using.  However, there is a setting in the general ledger that allows you to include a vendor and customer on one voucher.  Microsoft does not recommend it.  Please read up on it prior to use.  I suggest testing it in a test environment to verify results prior to enabling it in production.  It is in the general ledger parameters, on the ledger tab, and it is "Allow multiple transactions in one voucher".  Enable this setting and try again.

    Good luck to you,
    Missy

    Thank you Missy!

This does resolve the error message, but I'll read into it and determine if the need to do this outweighs the risk or if we have other controls in place to prevent those risks. Thanks for your help!
