Verifone or MasterCard Simplify Connector

    We are implementing D365FO and are down to the final major hurdle:  payment processor.
    Has anyone use the out of the box ISVs?  If not, what other solution did you use?

    Hi Gary,  We worked on a proof of concept with the standard Microsoft Payment processor via AX 2012 back in 2013 and several clients that skipped the proof-of-concept and all ended up using Red Maple, which I believe is known as the industry standard for Credit Card processing and PCI compliance.  The standard Microsoft connectors seemed to function (although there were lots of user complaints back then), but our clients wanted to use their own financial institution and generally it seemed more financially favorable to bypass the standard out-of-the-box connector and instead go with Red Maple.

    We are still on AX 2012 R3 but do use RedMaple.  It works fine but I will say I have been annoyed in the past by some bugging updates from them.  We use an a product from DyanmicWeb which integrates directly into AX through AIF for our online store.    We are really happy with DynamicWebs product.  Not sure what your credit card needs are but I would check them out as well.

    Thank you, Gabor.  I have reached out to Red Maple.  Their solution is a contender right now but I wanted to get more feedback on other possible solutions.

    We used CardConnect and built our own integration with them using the Payment SDK.  It wasn't very hard.  If you have a C# developer in-house they can do it themselves.  CardConnect's developer documentation is really good, and they use standard REST/JSON technology.

    That sounds like a really good solution too.  When you have the right skills in-house, I agree sometimes other solutions make great sense.

    The information may have changed since, but when speaking and working with Microsoft about a year ago, after spending months struggling to get the VeriFone connector to work for back office (call center), we were forced to punt on the native solution, and was told that Microsoft wasn't confident they would be continuing to move forward with their call center VeriFone iframe solution. VeriFone appears to work "flawlessly" for Point-of-Sale. however (and fortunately, took significantly less effort in comparison). Additionally, at the time, VeriFone didn't support Canadian operations (now that may have changed). We played a little with MasterCard Simplify and had moderate success; however our client wanted a solution that was supported in all channels (Point of Sale and Call Center). In the end, we went with Shift4 and the Retail Realm connector for call center and kept VeriFone for POS. I've heard decent things about Red Maple and also have had success with Pay Fabric in some capacity. Developing your own solution may be an alternative, as well, as others have mentioned, but just allow yourself enough time for development and certification.
