Consolidate Planned Orders

  • 1.  Consolidate Planned Orders

We are trying to consolidate line items with the same Item Number, order date and delivery date from multiple Planned PO's with the same Vendor, into one line item for each of those same Item Number lines.
Wirh considering huge number of Planned order lines, manual grouping is not usefull for us.
It will be appreciated if you have any suggestions.

What type of coverage group is listed against your items currently?

If you use a Requirement type coverage group you will get one planned order for each line of demand.  However, if you use a Period type coverage group master planning will look for all demand across that period and group all the orders together.  The length of the period you use will depend on your lead times, minimum/maximum order quantities/price breaks and how often you wish to receive orders for that product.

Thx a lot for you reply Jenni,
The point is that coverage code in Coverage Group setting both in settings and  item's item-coverage is Period and equal to 5.The issue raises from this point that the system creates seperate planned orders for Minimum and Demand forecasts.
It seems the system dosnt consolidate requirements of demand forecast and minimum.
I changes fulfill minimum from tadays date to first issue but didnt solve the issue.I appreciate if you could help.

    Hi -

+ 1 for exploring Coverage. Consider Periodic and a 1 day Period. Also explore MRP Parameters "Group by" settings.

    Thanks....Dave
