Trade Agreements

    Hi,
Has anyone set up trade agreements that give line item discounts that you do not wish to include in the total invoice discount for a customer?
I have set up price and volume discounts for items and also a total invoice discount for a few customers - we would like not to give a total discount on those items that already have a discount
Hope that is clear - we do not want to give discounts on a discounted item again
    Thanks
    Greg

    Hi Gregory.
There are no rule based trade agreement setup. If I understand your reqiurement your total discount should only be relevant for those items that has not been subject to a discount.
I think your best option is to make a structure with groups for the rule base you prefer, if possible.

We have had set up all the discounts in trade agreements but have now decided to move to the Retail module for management of the discounts (anticipating our eCommerce initiatives). From what I remember, you cannot have exclude a header discount from line item discounts. You can do it the other way around but Dyn365 will default give "the best price", i.e. the maximum discount, to the customer. We had to built customization to handle it.
If you feel this is a necessary functionality - which I can imagine - propose it on the idea portal and let this group know what is the idea number. We'll support it.

As the other comments indicate, you cannot do this by using standard trade agreements. But you have a much better chance to get close to it using retail discounts. You will have to create product categories and channel hierarchies but you can combine retail simple discount with threshold discount and indicate rules around combining them vs. using them exclusively.

You can start with the below link and see if it matches your requirements.
