    Quick question about best practice and if there's another way we could/should be handling this.

    We use the WMDP (RF Gun) to move inventory into a Scrap Warehouse and use locations in that warehouse to indicate the reason for the item being scraped.  We clear the scrap warehouse using the counting journal each month.

    Some Location examples: Internal Supplies, Sampling (don't use a destructive test for visibility of when it leaves the warehouse), Training, Expired before release, Expired, Cycle count variance

    Of course, everything in that journal is posted to Inventory, inventory loss using the GL account assigned in the posting profile.

    Accounting will then re-class the entries as necessary.

    I know you can assign an offset account in the Movement journal, but I know that would be considered and even more cumbersome process than the current one.
