eMail to Fax Providers

I'm wondering what hosted eMail to fax providers people are using. We have pretty low volume but some partners didn't get the message that the 80s called and wants their technology back.  In fact, the 80s tried to e-mail but the partners never heard of that technology.

We are killing off an extremely expensive on-premise solution since our cost per fax at this point is in the range of $1000/page.  :)

This post made me laugh so hard! Thank you for having a sense of humor about this.

Most people I have talked to who are in this predicament have basically told their partners that they have a certain amount of time to switch to email or they won't be able to conduct business with them any longer. Either that or they tell them the fax machine broke and they won't be investing in that technology any longer. Partners can sign up for a free Gmail or Hotmail account.

There are plenty of free services available for emailing a fax, but I do not know how good they are. I honestly haven't had enough experience with this, but felt like maybe someone else out there would, so I am giving your post a bump to the top with my reply.

I've used efax for over a decade, no issues.

Thanks for the responses!  We ended up going with eFax and it has been easy to setup and use so far.

We use a service that used to be called fax2mail.com but is now opentext.com.  We went live with them when we started AX in 2014.  It is extremely easy to use.  You set up the fax number in the print management as an email address, and it gets converted automatically to a fax.  We use it for sales order confirmations, invoices and customer statements.  They do have a minimum charge of $100 per month.  Our actual fax costs are usually only around $15 per month, but the convenience makes it worth the $100 per month for us.

Here is a link to some information about the service.  Feel free to reach out to me if you have additional questions.
