Forecasting new items

My organization is currently running AX 2012 R3 CU8 and we typically create several new items per month.  I'm trying to find a way to generate demand forecast for them.  But since there is no demand history, they are not included in the Statistical Baseline Forecast.

What's the best way to get a demand forecast into AX for new items?

    Hi Ken,
Hopefully this link will help guide you on the use of the demand forecasting functions that existed in AX prior to the release of the Azure ML based tool that came to market with R3, and that still exist in the product today inclusive of D365FO. In fact, the Azure ML tool feeds its outputs into this part of the system where MRP picks it up for further planning.

    Hi Ken,
There is a ReqDemPlanStagingTable that you can import transactions to as if they were real history. So you could take history of a like item, then in your excel file change the item number to the new item, import it to that table and it treats it like any other history. I believe this is what is included in the link Jack sent below
