Hello,

How do sales deal with orders placed on the "customer external ref"?

The only solution I've found is to go on the customer car, setup, external item description and search them.

This is not very efficient (lots of clicks).

Isn't there a way to find customer external ref from the sales order itself?

Alexandra, nearly all our customers order to their ref not ours. Therefore we have coded a customisation to lookup external item ref from the sales order line and when the user selects the ext ref the item number is populated on the sales order line. Saves loads of time and mistakes.

It's curious that this is not a standard functionality.  I'm going to check if it's logged at Microsoft in "IDEAS" and if not, I'll make an entry for it.

Definitely agree that Microsoft should implement this feature - As a consulting firm we have implemented that mod for several of our customers...
