Adding a skid to a formula in AX 2009

    I am working on adding a skid to a formula in AX 2009.  We are trying to work out a way to show that so many pieces "consumes" one skid without showing the quantity of the skid as a fraction of 1.  Is there any way that this can be achieved?

    There are several ways to do this.

    1. You can use step consumption
    2. Setting consumption = constant
    3. Qty=1 Per series = 3

    Each of these methods depend on what you want the inventory to do and what report you are using to signal consumption.

    Thanks for the quick response.  A little more background on our situation.  Our batches don't always end with the same amount of pieces and we have the potential to fill partial skids.  For example, what is the best way to have AX consume one skid for every 500 pcs and also consume a skid if we end up with a partial of 450 on the batch as well?  I'm also not seeing a way to do step consumption in AX 2009.

    Sure,
    Step consumption does not appear to be available in 09

    Round up would work
    Set:
    rounding-up = Consumption
    Multiples = 1
    qty = 1
    Per series = 500

    See if that works

    I just gave it a try but it looks like I might not have the "per series" field.  Is this normally on the setup tab?  I was able to find everything else you mentioned on there.  Perhaps it's an AX 2012 field that wasn't included in AX 2009?  Thanks!

    Shelby,
    The "per series" field is available in AX2009. By default it should be on the Setup tab of the BOM lines.
