Max Filesize - Save Reports to OneDrive or SharePoint

    Hello,

Is there a way to generate D365FO reports and save them in Excel format to Onedrive, SharePoint, or a local network path? Is there any way to extract a report from D365 other than the standard output options: Screen, File, Printer, Email

We generate a large financial report that exceeds the maximum filesize our Exchange server can handle. (Greater than 35MB). We use a recurring batch job to generate this report every night. Using email output s not an option, nor is screen or printer. The File option does not work with batch (a message appears stating that it will not work). Selecting the Print Archive toggle will only output the report in PDF format. We require Excel output.

I would like to know if there is any other way to generate and extract this batched Excel report from D365. I'm open to ideas, however I would like the simplest possible solution if possible.

Thank you very much for your input.

    Hi Tim,

You may try Docentric Free Edition which gives you options to send SSRS generated report to the File print destination, where you can choose among Azure storage, SharePoint or File system (the latter is applicable only in on-premise installations). This functionality is also supported in batch processing.

You can export to the BYOD and have full SQL access to your data, inlcuding export to Excel with no OData connection limitations.

When you save as file from batch, you need to reference the fully qualified path, like \\computername.domain.com\datashare\directory\subdirectory\filename.xlsx.

To save to sharepoint, I save files to a directory on the local server, then use a scheduled task to copy to destination, rename & save to archive, delete. I use a similar process for secure ftp.
