Uploading Selling Pricing - AX 2012 R3

We are looking to be able to upload selling prices for our inventory items in AX 2012 R3 via a text file template to eliminate hours of manual entry. Has anyone else done this and if so can you share the process?

    Hey Lisa,

Are you wanting to do this on the item master or are you looking to do a mass upload of a price/discount agreement journal?

Currently the selling prices are attached to the item master and the pricing groups are in the customer master. For example we have the following selling prices on the item below  and the "Account selection" is what is joined to the customer master. I am looking for a way to update these selling prices via upload.

We use the Data Import/export definition groups. Start by creating an excel definition template for cost version simulated prices.
This gets imported into a cost version we call SalesLoad, when we're ready, we activate the cost version prices.
We use the Price/disc agreement journal for specific types of items (but you said "inventory items", what we call Base aka our "List" price), so this is a different set of tables (trade agreements).

What we are entering is not a cost for the item but a sales price so I am confused on the costing version verbiage that mention as I would thin that cannot be utilized in the following flow:

Costing can create variant and qty based pricing (sales, purchase and cost) that trade agreements can then override.

I would advise that instead of item specific pricing use ListPrice+discount instead.  It is much easier at an item group + customer group level. Item specific pricing by customer account is very difficult to maintain and update.

That being said, DIXF is your best route.  If there is no trade agreement entity in your system see if you can have a developer create one.

We use ATLAS here, which is a life saver, but it has trouble handling more than 10,000 records at a time on a good day.

    Hi Lisa,
Why not use the functionality in the Price/Discount Agreement Journals?

Go to Accounts Receivable -> Journals -> Price / Discount Agreement Journals.
    • Create a new journal and hit the "lines" button at the top of the form.
    • In the Journal Lines
      • hit the "Select" button to create a selection of what Items / Customer Groups / Dates / etc to insert into the journal.
      • Use the "Add Products" to find products to add to the journal lines using a category hierarchy, Item Group / Buyer Group / vendor account, or advanced filter on all released products in the "Available Products" section.
      • If you have an already posted journal from a prior update, you can find the posted journal open it to the lines, and use the "Copy and Revise" button to update those same Sales price records.  This is good for annual price changes.
    • Once you have the correct set of items / customers in the journal lines, hit the "Edit in Excel" button and all lines will be pushed to excel, where you can use formulas / copy down to mass update prices.
    • Once prices are correct, publish back to AX using the "Publish" button.
    • Back in the journal lines in AX, you will see all changes, click the "Validate", then click "Post".

You'll need to have someone enable the PriceDiscServices in AX, but that's really easy.  Lachlan has a video on using this and the setup:
