Budget Register Entries Dimension

    Hi,

We have account dimension setup MA(Master Account) ; MA+DP(Master Account, Department), MA+PL+PJ(Master account, platform, project). But when we load budget (via Budget Register Entries), we only want to use MA(Master account) not any other dimensions. Since accounts are tied to these dimensions, is there a way to bypass these dimensions and load budget only to MA. In the Budget dimension setup page(below screenshot), I select 'Main Account' but it didn't solve the problem. Thanks

    Hi Mohammad,

What account structure are you using for the register entry and what dimensions are included on that?

    Kind Regards

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your response. I am selecting account structure MA and it for a account which is MA+PL+PJ(account 103530 requires account, platform and project but for budget, we just need data by account level).

    Regards,
    Mohammad

    Hi Mohammad,

The account structure you select has contain the account you are entering.  Apply the correct account structure but then in the dimension value field only enter the main account and no other dimensions.

Try setting the budgeting dimensions (don't select any) in Budget Setup (Dimensions for budgeting). And if you are importing with Data Management be sure to set the integration dimensions in General Ledger-->Chart of Accounts-->Dimensions-->Financial dimension configuration for integrating applications.

I think if you set both of these you can budget at just the main account level.

    Hi Laura,

Thanks for your response. On the budget dimension page, I cleared out everything but then on the budget register page, account structure is blank. When I select MA only then all the dimensions become visible in the budget register page(i guess atleast one dimension should be there). Then I entered the entry and still error out. I have attached the screen shots.
