Setup of Non-Stock Service Item

  • 1.  Setup of Non-Stock Service Item

    Hello All,

We have been trying to configure the non-stock service items (These are the services that are to be delivered to our customers). We set the product type as service item, configured item model group : selected it to be un-stocked and allowed negative financial inventory. Once released, we tried to include that on Sales order and fulfill the order. We cannot fulfill as it prompts us to post the packing slip. We do not see any line items in the Post packing slip window. And the option of picking the items is disabled.

Please let us know if we are doing anything wrong or missing any configuration.

    Thank you!

When you do your Packing slip posting, you need to select the quantity option "Picked quantity and not stocked products".    You should still be able to select this option and post for the service items only if you already packing slip updated your stocked products.

I believe you can skip the packing slip and go straight to "generate invoice" if you change the Quantity setting there to "All".   If there are physical goods also shipping that you want to invoice together with the service item, then follow the advise of the previous comment to include the non-stock items on the packing slip.

Agree with Colby, sounds like your Quantity selection is set to something else and ignore your service items. When set to "All" it would show all lines on the order whether item or service and if you select something like "Picked quantity and not stocked products" it would show any inventoried items that are picked plus all the service lines on the sales order that you can "ship."

    Hi Shubham,

Can you check if you have enabled the option Deduction requirements on the item model group? If so, you are required to first post the packing slip. If this is disabled, you can post the service item directly on the invoice.
