Batch job autoreports (auto reports)

I'm looking for a way to create a batch job for autoreports. I don't see the functionality in AX to do this. Is there a way to schedule batch jobs for autoreports?

For example: every day at 8 am run the Backorder lines autoreport (/Sales and marketing/Common/Sales orders/Backorder lines) and email it.

Unfortunately I don't think there is.    The Auto-Report function actually calls a form called 'SysTableForm'.   That form itself contains most of the logic related to the Auto-Report functionality.

I would have hoped this logic was contained in a RunBaseBatch class but it is not.  As a result you cannot call it via the Batch framework.

    Hi Brad

I am not sure if I am understanding this correctly but in most D365 reports there is a "Run in the background" tab. This should allow for setup of batch job for reports. In the "Destination" tab you can change the output to e-mail. So long as your e-mail parameters are setup so that the system knows how to send e-mails this should work.

I will test soon, my environment is currently down otherwise I would have tested before I posted.

    Thanks,

Not all reports are supported out of the box with print management. However, if they are, you can setup print management to email the target, and then just run the report with print management checked.
If the report isn't supported by print management, you may consider a customization to add it. Microsoft has a white paper on adding reports to print management....

    Hi Brad,
If by auto report you mean the File -> Print -> Print -> Autoreport, Corey is correct, that can't be scheduled in batch.

If the backorder sales lines grid is one you specifically need to replicate, you can get the same row set but maybe different columns, in R3 by running the report at Sales & Marketing -> Reports -> Sales orders -> Open Sales order lines by Customer / Item / Ship date and using an advanced filter like this, then you can schedule this to run in batch and print to email.

Hope that helps, its not going to work for stuff where there isn't a similar SSRS report though.

AX2009 allows you to save an autoreport to the AOT. This can then be batch run.
Has this been deprecated in AX2012+?
