    Hi all,

We have an urgent need in implementing master planning in a retail industry.

There is a vendor that its delivery date is just on Tuesdays and the lead time is two days. So, the order date should be on Sundays and delivery date on Tuesdays on a weekly basis.

We have defined a calendar and assigned to a Vendor. In this calendar:
    1. If Sundays and Tuesdays are Open day. In some situations, and order is placed on Tuesday and the delivery date is on Sunday that is not what we expected.

    2. If we set only the Tuesdays as an open day, the orders are also placed on Tuesdays!

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

Open days: Tuesdaysopen days: Sundays & TuesdaysHello ,

I have attached to screenshots. I tested both of them and each has its deficiencies.

    1. Open days= Tuesdays: order date and delivery date are set only on Tuesdays, but we want to order on Sundays and have delivery on Tuesdays.

    2. Open days= Sundays & Tuesdays: in some situations order date is on Tuesday and delivery date is on Sunday (next week) that is not expected.

Another point is that "closed for pickup" check box does not have impact on order date and delivery dates of Purchase Orders. In summery, order dates should be fixed to Sundays and delivery dates should be fixed to Tuesdays.

    I truly appreciate your help.

    Hello Kevin,

The lead time is 2 calendar days (not working days).

Kevin, I found a similar problem in the following link:
    https://timsaxblog.wordpress.com/2016/11/04/vendor-calendars-in-dynamics-ax/
stating that "Both the Order dates and the Delivery dates are falling onto our Vendor Purchasing calendar Open days – I confess I'm surprised by this. I was expecting the Delivery dates to fall onto the open days, but not the Order dates..." But it does not suggest any solutions for it.

Could any one suggest any solutions?

It seems that "Closed for pickup" does not affect Planned purchase orders.

I have listed a ticket to Microsoft about this, and had intense discussions with Microsoft Team, it seems that it is indeed not working as you might expect on the operational side. The vendor calendar is more thought of being used in case a vendor is closed for one day, so they confirmed it is working as per design.

There is unfortunately no workaround for this. The Vendor calendar is used to calculate scheduling from date, the scheduling to date and the order date.

We have changed the code removing looking into the calendar from the sched from date as a customized code to solve the issue.

That's very disappointing information.  I likewise would have expected the recommended order creation date to be independent of the calendar.  I will be working on a similar problem for one of my customers in the near future.  I will let you know if I find any magic solutions, but it sounds like you have exhausted all of the easy solutions.  .

Yes, I have tried all the possible solutions came to my mind but none of them worked.
I hope we could find a solution because it has stopped our implementation process.
