Master scheduling net change error (ReqProcessTransFilter, ReqTrans) #

When running Master scheduling(net change) I receive the below errors. I installed 2 recommended hotfixes from Microsoft and it seemed to help but the errors have started to appear again. We do not receive these errors message when we run a full regen. Anyone have any recommendations?

Cannot create a record in Requirement transactions process filter (ReqProcessTransFilter). Scheduling process: XXXXXX, XXXXXXX.
    The record already exists.

Cannot edit a record in Net requirements (ReqTrans).
An update conflict occurred due to another user process deleting the record or changing one or more fields in the record.

    Hi Michael -

What is the environment version data (kernel and application) and what KBs were installed?

    Thanks....Dave

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response. This does not happen every time we run the Net change, its totally random. We have not implemented Net change(including below hotfixes) in our Prod environment yet only in our testing environment.

Below are the details you requested:

    Kernel version: 6.3.6000.6803
    App Version: 6.3.1000.473

    Hotfixes

KB 4019938 "Cannot edit a record" error for certain transactions entered after last full regen

KB 4477601 Cannot create a record in Requirement transactions process filter (ReqProcessTransFilter). error occurs when running MRP in 'Net change' mode

Let me know if you need any more information.

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi Dave,

Any idea if there are other hotfixes that we need to install?

    Thanks

I've seen these errors pop up maybe once or twice in the past month. I haven't noticed any affect from them.
    Need I be concerned?

    Hi Michael -

Looks like the environment is AX2012 R3 CU8 released November 2014.  That date is important when you evaluate LCS bugs.  Any bug with a date after September, 2014 (adding a code freeze buffer), is worth considering.

The earlier KB selection looks fine.  Are they destined for Live?

You might look at this KB, https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Details?kb=4057156&bugId=3910157&dbType=0&qc=3a7dfd1f1b42f514f20fdfd8ffe7c9f9305ee9d7dbe9d5c938082145703e152b
    Released 12/20/2017

KB 4057156 / Bug 3910157 (can be seen in the URL)

    This one too, https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Details?kb=4039914&bugId=3848259&dbType=0&qc=1321f83e5736c07aff0963c74a40faed70745e0bb4efb14b9425fccdeb836681
    Released 8/21/2017

Also, the kernel is nearing one year old.  I would consider updating the kernel to a newer version to pick up the latest *scheduling*.dll's used by MRP.  The scheduling engine is now written in C#, so updates are delivered with kernels.

See URL below for more on the Scheduling engine.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/developer/customizing-the-resource-scheduling-engine

Kernels are also cumulative so don't be concerned about the name.  This one is fairly recent.

    https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Details?kb=4492733

Kernels are a fairly quick install.  Let's get those in a test environment and see where you're at.

    Thanks....Dave

    Hi Dave,

No luck with the hotfixes. We still receive the error and sometimes the job fails. The job seems to have a better success rate when we use less helpers.

We are not moving forward with this process in production until we can get a clean run of results. Let me know if you have any more recommendations.

    Thanks

    Hi Michael -

At this point, we've installed the known KBs but still receive the errors.

I would advice working with your partner and opening up a new ticket with MSFT.  Mention the installed KBs, kernel, and troubleshooting steps performed to date.

    Thanks....Dave
