Securing Budget vs Actual by department owner

    We would like to roll out access of department budgets to the owners assigned.  Each budget has salary information and we would like to make sure owners only see their budgets.

    Has anyone does this and can offer any guidance.

    You would be wanting to use Extensible Data Security or XDS: https://alexdmeyer.com/2019/02/20/extensible-data-security-xds-framework-in-d365fo/

    This is Microsoft's answer for questions like yours when you want to restrict a user to only be able to see some objects of a particular type based on a parameter. So in your case you would be restricting which budgets a user could see based on a owner -> budget association.
