Workflow Email Notifications

    I've gone through the process of setting up a workflow for Daily Journals. Within the workflow setup, I've set up the communication for when a workflow is submitted, approved, etc. When test it by submitting a workflow, I get an email but it's blank. What do I need to do to get the communication that is set up in the workflow to send in an email? I am getting all notifications in D365 as well.

    That's weird can you share your notifications set up, do you have notification text, recipient and workflow user setup properly?

    I've added screenshots. It seems that the emails I get are from the tie to the Organizational email template. It is odd to me that I would need to set up an org. template when I want to use what was set up in the workflow. Thanks

    Based on those settings user tkurtz should be getting an email saying "2nd level "reject" or approve notification always since the recipient is user based. That should happen once the second level step happens. I usually set up the notifications at the step level and not at the workflow level which is your first set of instructions.  hope this makes sense

    Hi Travis,

    I believe you still have to set up the organization email template with some very basic information so that the message you've set up on the workflow comes through.  As an example, this is one of our notification settings for our timesheet approval workflow - very similar to yours:


    This is the organization email template that will push that through to an email:


    As you can see, all you have to do is put %subject% in the subject line and %message% in the body template and whatever you put in the workflow notification should come through there.
