Our company is trying to test the native demand forecasting functionality in AX 2012 R3 to determine if this will meet our fairly basic forecasting needs before deciding whether we need a third-party product.  We have set up all of the necessary parameters (we think) per Microsoft documentation, but when we try to set the 'historical horizon' and 'baseline forecast start date parameters' on Master Planning > Periodic > Demand forecast > Generate statistical baseline forecast we are unable to enter dates.  We can select the dates from the calendar but the selection doesn't populate the necessary fields.

Does anyone in the community know what step(s) we are missing?

We are evaluating the out of the box tool too.  Did you set the forecast bucket?
