Validation of Future versions of D365

    Hi

    I work for a medical device manufacturing company and will be fully validating D365 Finance and Operations version 10.0.XX prior to its implementation in the next months.

    All elements of the validation testing (IQ/OQ/PQ) , including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will be completed  and recorded manually by Subject Matter Experts.

    We have created a suite of Task Recording which were synced with Azure DevOps to create our Test Scripts for UAT. We have also begun testing our Test Scripts in RSAT with varying results.

    My questions are;

    • How will other companies which require to validate D365, going to validate / manage future updates?
    • I know we have mandatory 'major' updates in April and October throughout the year, however I'm also aware there will also be 'minor' updates almost every month. If we don't to adopt the 'minor' updates, how may 'minor' updates can we 'skip' before we are unsupported?

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi Gavin-

    Here at Tillamook, upon taking updates we will be (and are mostly now) taking them monthly.  You can only 'pause' for a couple months.  See here for more information (that seems to change often):

    Hope this helps!
