recommendations for training

I am fairly new to AX and am looking for recommendations for training.  I come from a developer/analyst/support background and will be responsible for data movement, reporting and process automation.  I would like to understand the db and upgrade processes.  Any thoughts for a hands-on type of "bootcamp?"  Thanks.

eTraining is available on the CustomerSource website.  Many people in my company took this training to get up to speed when we started using AX for the first time.  I would recommend it for anyone new to AX and it's a good starting point.

I believe there are also bootcamps that are available from MS.  I think they do all the training in Fargo, ND if I'm not mistaken.  There might be other options that your partner could introduce you too.

    Good day!

Chris is right on target.  You should get started in CustomerSource and branch out from there.

Given your requirements, you will want to focus on the development tracks to include not only the database but also the AOT interface within AX, and Visual Studio development components.  These will help you understand automation methods and enhancements.

Additional training is always available - for a fee - from Microsoft, partner groups, and third party trainers, but you want to exhaust your existing options first.

Be sure to check out some of the available resources with AXUG as well.

    Good luck!

    Ken
