Forecasting in AX 2012 R3

    Hi,

Our users are beginning to ask about forecasting capability within AX and I wondered if anyone who is using it could provide any feedback, or if anyone opted for an external package, could advise of any recommendations

My organisation is also talking of possible migration to D365, however that wont begin until next year at the earliest, so any proposed solution would need to be compatible with both AX 2012 and D365

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks, Paul

No problem at all Paul. It seems as though you have a couple of options but of course it all depends on how complex the requirements are from the users.
If you can do it in AX then great, if not do reach out to Solver if you are to go out to the market. We are the only CPM vendor that is Microsoft approved and preferred!

Insight software are doing something...I haven't looked, but the finance team  did and didn't throw the idea out...I think it was budgeting and planning they were looking at. Adaptive Insights is also interesting for them.

    Hi Paul,

AX has some inbuilt capabilities for forecasting that may be a good starting point to explore.   Here is a blog post I had in my links you may find interesting.

    https://rehanaqeel.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/forecasting-in-dynamics-ax-2009/

and a link to the inbuilt capabilities (or starter link to explore) to what is available in D365/AX2012

    Hi Tammy,

We did look at AX Forecasting over a year ago. Your blog post looks fairly detailed so I'll forward the link to our users and ask them to review the AX offering

    Many thanks,
    Paul
