Data Migration incurrs lots of unexpected costs and delays due to inactive standard entities.
Plan to have access to a developer for around 3 hours per entity

    Hi Paul

Migration was a big enough task with AX2012 but at least you had access to tables direct, with the issues around limited entities and even some critical entities not being made public, it just adds to the pain.  But at least by investing in additional entities now for migration will means you can use them for reporting after go-live.  Once you have the entities built you can decide on the best platform for migrating your data.  Certainly data migration cannot be an after thought anymore because its such an important part of any AX implementation project.

Data Migration is very easy, once you clear what is required, and it is always benefitial to have the Data migrated through the Framework so we Re-use for further upgrades.
