This morning, we kicked off the D365UG/AXUG Product General Session on Optimizing Business Operations with Microsoft Dynamics 365. We were fortunate to hear from Muhammad Alam, General Manager, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Microsoft and Kees Hertogh, Sr. Director, Product Marketing at Microsoft.
Alam set the stage for the audience by stating “Every industry is in transition. This transition is about consumers wanting more personalized choices.” Alam spoke about digital transformation for each of these industries:
- Financial services
- Public sector
Last year at Summit, Scott Guthrie announced Microsoft Dynamics 365 and spoke about Digital Transformation. Alam said, “We also know that transformation doesn’t happen as a big bang.” Microsoft is enabling customers to transform their businesses on a department by department basis and at their pace with the business apps within the Dynamics 365 workloads.
Alam also said, “Microsoft elevated the Dynamics business for the first time ever as core to our strategy.” It’s an exciting time to be a Dynamics customer as Dynamics are a key part of the strategy for success for Microsoft.
Attendees saw product demos on Microsoft 365 for Talent by Brandon Potter, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft. He spoke about the new features coming in the near future to help with onboarding new employees through PowerApp and Flow.
Alam closed with a few key takeaways, saying that running complex workloads are possible and not every solution will be entirely out of the box for customers, that you can leverage ISV solutions through AppSource.
